A literary magazine. From October 1902 to March 1904. 12 issues in total. Successor to Geibun. Mainly Mori Ogai, but with a background in the art circle of Ogai and Ueda Bin. In addition to the featured joint critiques (such as Chikamatsu's Shinju Mannensou), the magazine also contained excellent critiques, poetry, historical research, and translations. Main contributors were Ogai, Bin, Inoue Michiyasu, Sasaki Nobutsuna, Noguchi Neisai (Takutenjosen), Yosano Akiko, Koganei Kimiko, Oyamauchi Kaoru, and Oyamauchi Yachiyo. Publication ceased when Ogai served in the Russo-Japanese War.

文芸雑誌。1902年10月~04年3月。全12冊。《芸文》の後身。森鷗外が中心であるが,鷗外・上田敏の芸術サークルを背景とする。呼び物であった合評(近松《心中万年草》など)のほか,評論,詩歌,考証,翻訳に優れたものがある。鷗外,敏,井上通泰,佐佐木信綱,野口寧斎(謫天情仙(たくてんじようせん)),与謝野晶子,小金井喜美子,小山内薫,小山内八千代らがおもな執筆者である。鷗外の日露戦争従軍によって終刊となった。
