This coast faces the Uraga Strait in southwestern Chiba Prefecture. It stretches from Cape Isone at the base of Cape Futtsu to Cape Sunosaki in Tateyama City. The alternating sandy and rocky coasts create a beautiful natural landscape. The JR Uchibo Line and National Route 127 run along the coast, and the Tateyama Expressway and the Futtsu-Tateyama Road are located inland. It is connected to the Miura Peninsula on the opposite shore of the Uraga Strait by ferry, making transportation convenient. Since the Showa era, swimming beaches have been opened in various places, and there are many guesthouses. Almost the entire coastline, including the tourist spots of Mt. Nokogiri and Cape Daibusa, belongs to Minamiboso Quasi-National Park. Flower cultivation is thriving, and loquats are a specialty of Minamiboso City. Mt. Nokogiri, which belongs to the Minami-Boso Quasi-National Park, is known as a scenic spot for its oddly shaped rocks and stones, and at the summit there is an observation deck jutting out from the cliff called "Hell's View."
