A town in Itano County in the northeastern part of Tokushima Prefecture. It is sandwiched between the old Yoshino River and the Imagire River, and occupies the low marshes of the Tokushima Plain facing the Kii Channel to the east. In addition to rice cultivation, lotus root cultivation is thriving. Tokushima Airport, an air base for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, is located here. Area: 14.24 km2 . 徳島県北東部，板野郡の町。旧吉野川と今切(いまぎれ)川にはさまれ，東は紀伊水道に面する徳島平野の低湿地を占める。米作のほか，れんこん栽培が盛ん。海上自衛隊の航空基地の徳島空港がある。14.24km2。１万5070人（2010）。
