Matsushige [town] - Matsushige
A town in Itano County in the northeastern part of Tokushima Prefecture. It is sandwiched between the old Yoshino River and the Imagire River, and occupies the low marshes of the Tokushima Plain facing the Kii Channel to the east. In addition to rice cultivation, lotus root cultivation is thriving. Tokushima Airport, an air base for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, is located here. Area: 14.24 km2 . Population: 15,070 (2010).
