Khārijī (English spelling) Khariji

…the first political and religious sect in Islam. They were also called the Khārijites (singular). Their radical and uncompromising actions disrupted the ruling system of the fourth caliph Ali and the Umayyad dynasty, while in religious and ideological terms they were the first to raise the issue of the caliphate and the sins of Muslims.
