A type of seaweed in the family Polytrichum communes, order Euonymus. It grows in colonies on rocks in the intertidal zone. The algae are bent like a magatama and have a circular constriction at the base. It is about 2.5 cm tall. It is found in warm seas such as the Ryukyu Islands, the Malay Archipelago, Polynesia, and the Indian Ocean. 緑藻類ミドリゲ目マガタマモ科の海藻。潮間帯の岩上に群生する。藻体は勾玉のような形に曲って基部に環状のくびれがある。高さ 2.5cmぐらい。南西諸島からマレー諸島,ポリネシア,インド洋など暖海にみられる。
