(1) A rounded rectangular switch that appears in dialogs and windows. Click this part with the mouse to give commands to the software. An operation is written on the button. The operation is often an answer to a question, such as "yes" or "no." (2) One of the formats for displaying files and folders in Finder in Mac OS 8 and later. Files are displayed as buttons that can be opened with a single click, rather than double-clicking. To move a file displayed as a button, drag the file name. You can select this format by selecting "Buttons" from the "View" menu. Other display formats include "Icon" and "List."

(1)ダイアログやウィンドウに表示される、丸みのある長方形のスイッチ。この部分をマウスでクリックして、ソフトウェアに命令を与える。ボタンには操作内容が記されている。操作内容は「はい」や「いいえ」といった、質問の答えであることが多い。(2)Mac OS 8以降のFinderでファイルやフォルダーを表示する形式のひとつ。ファイルをダブルクリックでなく、1回のクリックで開くことのできるボタンとして表示する。ボタン表示のファイルを移動するにはファイル名の部分をドラッグする。「表示」メニューから「ボタン」を選んでこの形式を選択できる。他の表示形式には「アイコン」と「リスト」がある。
