Hojo Tokiyuki

Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A military commander in the late Kamakura period. Second son of Takatoki. Sagami Jiro. His childhood names include Kamejumaru, Zenkamaru, and Katsuchojumaru, so it is unclear. In 1333 (Genko 3), when the Hojo clan was destroyed, Suwa Moritaka took him into custody and went down to Shinano by order of his uncle Yasuie, and in 1335 (Kenmu 2), when a plot between Yasuie and Kanto Shinji Kinmune Saionji was revealed, he raised an army in Shinano with Suwa Yorishige and others, attacked the Shogun of Kamakura, Prince Narinaga, and Ashikaga Tadayoshi, and occupied Kamakura on July 25, but was counterattacked by Ashikaga Takauji and others, and left Kamakura on August 18. He was also called "Twenty Days Sendai" due to the period of his occupation of Kamakura (the Nakasendai War). During Tokiyuki's occupation of Kamakura, it is said that many members of the Hojo clan who had been living in temples returned to secular life. He then stayed in a Zen temple and traveled around, and in 1337 he joined the Imperial Court and received an imperial decree of pardon, thereafter acting on the side of the Southern Court. The following year he was dispatched to the eastern provinces together with Nitta Yoshioki, and in February of the intercalary year of 1352 he and his forces defeated the forces of Ashikaga Motouji and occupied Kamakura, but he soon left Kamakura and was captured, and on May 20th he was killed at Tatsuno-Kuchi in Kamakura along with Nagasaki Suruga Shiro and Kudo Jiro.

鎌倉後期の武将。高時の次男。相模二郎。童名には亀寿丸・全嘉丸・勝長寿丸があり明確でない。北条氏滅亡の元弘3(1333)年,叔父・泰家の命により諏訪盛高が身柄を保護し信濃に下り,建武2(1335)年,泰家と関東申次・西園寺公宗との計略の露顕で諏訪頼重らと信濃で挙兵し,鎌倉の将軍・成良親王と足利直義を攻略し7月25日に鎌倉を占領したが足利尊氏らの反撃にあい8月18日には鎌倉を退去した。鎌倉占拠の期間から「廿日先代」とも号された(中先代の乱)。時行の鎌倉占拠の間,寺に入っていた北条氏一族に還俗が相次いだという。その後,禅律寺院に寄宿して移動し,延元2(1337)年に宮方に降り勅免の綸旨を得,以後,南朝方として行動する。翌年には新田義興と共に東国に派遣され,正平7(1352)年閏2月には新田勢と共に足利基氏の軍勢を破り鎌倉を占領したが,まもなく鎌倉を退去し捕らえられ,5月20日に鎌倉竜の口で長崎駿河四郎,工藤二郎と共に殺害された。
