The Pang Xun Rebellion

Japanese: 龐勛の乱 - ほうくんのらん

A popular rebellion in the late Tang Dynasty in China. 2,000 Xuzhou soldiers who had been sent to Guizhou (Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) to defend Nanzhao were not allowed to return home after the promised three years had passed, so in 868 (the 9th year of the Xiantong Dynasty), under the leadership of military provisions official Pang Xun, they attempted to return home voluntarily by sailing down the Yangtze River. The Xuzhou military military governor did not approve of this action, and war broke out. Pang Xun occupied Xuzhou and demanded that the imperial court grant him the position of governor, but his request was not accepted, and a large-scale rebellion eventually rallied local lords, peasants, and bandits.

中国，唐末の民衆反乱。南詔防衛のため桂州(広西チワン(壮)族自治区桂林)に派遣されていた徐州の兵士2000人が，約束の3年を過ぎても帰還が許されないので，868年(咸通9)軍糧担当官の龐勛を首領に頂き，長江(揚子江)を下って自主帰還を敢行した。徐州軍節度使はこの行動を認めず戦端が開かれた。龐勛は徐州を占領して節度使の地位を朝廷に要求したが，受け入れられず，ついに土豪･農民･群盗を結集した大規模な反乱となった。
