A Roman goddess. As the patron deity of the hearth, she was closely associated with the Vesta and Lares, and worshipped in the homes of each household. Her cult is said to have been brought from Troy by Aeneas. There is an uncertain number of them, but some say that they were twin brothers, and they are sometimes identified with the Dioscuri and Cabiri.
