Bunmei Ittouki - Bunmei Ittouki

This book on politics was written by Ichijo Kaneyoshi at the request of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshihisa, and explains six points that rulers should bear in mind. It is one volume. Although the points he makes, such as emphasizing filial piety, honesty, and compassion, tend to be somewhat abstract and abstract, it consistently asserts that one should think about the nobles, shrines, and farmers who are suffering and grieving over the loss of their "land for which they have worked so hard," establish one's authority as Shogun, work hard at politics, and prohibit the actions of violent feudal lords. To that extent, it is a political theory that reflects the reality of the time. It is included in Gunsho Ruiju (Miscellaneous section).

一条兼良(かねら)が将軍足利義尚(あしかがよしひさ)の求めに応じ、為政者としてとくに心すべき六か条を説いた政道の書。一巻。孝行、正直、慈悲を強調するなど、その説くところやや観念的、抽象的なきらいもあるが、「一所懸命の地」を奪われて憂悲苦悩している公家(くげ)・社寺・農民のうえに思いをいたし、将軍としての権威を確立し、政治に励み、猛悪な大名らの所行を禁制せよ、というのが一貫する主張で、その限り、当時の現実を反映した政道論である。『群書類従』（雑部）所収。
