In the evidence gathering procedure of a civil lawsuit, a court order is issued to a person who has evidence to submit it. The new Civil Procedure Code enacted in 1996 included an explicit expansion of the obligation to submit documents, the scope of which had previously been disputed (Article 219 et seq. of the same law).
