It is a compound equivalent to 1,3,5-trihydroxybenzene, and its chemical formula is C 6 H 3 (OH) 3 . It is a white crystal with a melting point of 218°C. It is slightly soluble in water, and soluble in alcohol and ether. It is used as a detection reagent for pentoses, lignin, etc., as a diazo-type color developer, and as a dye raw material.
