Wilson cycle
The repeated division and joining of continents, and the spreading and disappearance of ocean floors throughout geological time. Proposed by Canadian geologist T. Wilson. It is believed that the supercontinents Pangaea and Rodinia, which once existed, were formed through this repeated process.
