Aborigine

Japanese: Aborigine
Aborigine

...refers to the indigenous people who lived on the Australian continent without writing, before the Chinese and Europeans arrived (1788). Both the government and private sectors used to call them Aborigines or Aboriginals, but in recent times the term "indigenous people" has begun to be used officially. Furthermore, the Torres Strait Islanders, who are of a slightly different race and culture, and the Oceanian Islanders who previously arrived (excluding the Maori of New Zealand), are also lumped together as Australian Aboriginals in administrative and daily life terms.

From Oceania

…Oceania is the region that includes the Pacific islands and the Australian continent (including its islands), excluding the islands of the Asian continent and the American continent. Its area is vast, as it includes most of the Pacific Ocean, but its total land area is less than 9 million km2, and the Australian continent alone accounts for 86% of it. If we add New Guinea and New Zealand, the two largest islands by far, the total area is 98%. The remaining several thousand islands have a total area of only 180,000 km2.
