Buraku Liberation League

Japanese: 部落解放同盟 - ぶらくかいほうどうめい

This organization is the successor to the National Levelers Association, which was founded in 1922. In 1946, a national conference of Buraku representatives was held, and the National Committee for Buraku Liberation was launched with Matsumoto Jiichiro as its first chairman. In 1955, it was renamed to its current name. After that, there was a clash of opinions between the mainstream members of the LLB affiliated with the Socialist Party and those affiliated with the Communist Party over the nature and progress of the Buraku Liberation Movement, including the issue of denunciation, and in June 1970, the latter formed the "National Liaison Conference for Buraku Liberation Normalization" (Normalization Association), the predecessor of the "National Federation of Buraku Liberation Movement Associations" (Zenkairen). In 1960, the conservative organization "All Japan Dowa Association" split, and from this organization, the "National Free Dowa Association" separated and became independent in 1986, so currently there are four organizations each working on the liberation movement. 1922年創設の全国水平社を継承する団体。 46年全国部落代表者会議を開き，松本治一郎を初代委員長として部落解放全国委員会が発足。 55年現在のように改称された。その後，主流派の社会党系同盟員と共産党系同盟員との間で糾弾問題をはじめとする部落開放運動のあり方や進め方をめぐって意見が対立，後者が 70年6月に「全国部落開放運動連合会」 (全解連) の前身である「部落解放正常化全国連絡会議」 (正常化連) を結成した。また 60年には保守系組織である「全日本同和会」が分裂し，さらにこの団体からも 86年に「全国自由同和会」が分離・独立したので，現在4つの組織がそれぞれ解放運動を進めている。解放同盟は機関紙『解放新聞』を発行。 (→同和問題 )
