A paint whose main film-forming components are unsaturated polyester and vinyl monomers (usually styrene monomers). A reaction initiator (benzoyl peroxide, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) and a hardening accelerator (cobalt octoate, dimethylaniline) are commonly used to dry the paint. It can be applied thickly and dried in a short time, and has high chemical resistance, heat resistance, and excellent electrical insulation, but it is inconvenient that it must be a multi-component type. 不飽和ポリエステルとビニル系モノマー(多くの場合スチレンモノマー)とを塗膜形成主要素とする塗料。塗料の乾燥にあたっては，反応開始剤(過酸化ベンゾイル，過酸化メチルエチルケトン)と硬化促進剤(オクトイン酸コバルト，ジメチルアニリン)が慣用される。厚塗，短時間乾燥が可能で，化学抵抗性が高く，耐熱性，電気絶縁性に優れるが，多液型としなければならない点が不便である。用途は木工塗装用。【大藪権昭】
