Japanese: 神の平和 - かみのへいわ（英語表記）Paix de Dieu

A measure by the Catholic Church in medieval Europe to prohibit private fighting (feudé). It originated in France, where the power of the king was weak, and since there was no centralized state, the church took the initiative in carrying it out. It reached its peak in the 1030s. It aimed to protect the property of non-combatants, and imposed penalties on violators. It lost its effectiveness as the royal power of each country strengthened. Later, as an extension of this, the "Divine Truce" prohibited the knight class from engaging in any combat for a certain period of time.

中世ヨーロッパでカトリック教会が私闘（フェーデ）を禁じた措置
国王権力の弱かったフランスに発生し，集権的な国家が存在しないため，教会が主導権をもって行ったもの。1030年代に最も高揚した。非戦闘員の財産保護を目的とし，違反者に罰則を設けた。各国の王権強化につれて効力を失った。その後，この延長として騎士階級に一定の期間，いっさいの戦闘行為を禁じたのが「神の休戦」である。
