〘Noun〙 A long rainfall that falls in autumn. A long, light rainfall that follows the gloomy weather that continues from the end of August to the beginning of October. [Season: Autumn] *Yakumo Gosho (around 1242) 3 "The kind of thing Mitsutada refers to as akisame is a lovely thing." [Etymology] A word that originated from the association with "harusame." While "harusame" was often used in waka poetry as a word expressing a seasonal feeling, it seems that it was not considered a poetic word, as prohibited in "Yakumo Gosho." However, "akisame" is rarely seen in the ancient or middle ages, and only appears in the Thirteenth Collection after "Zoku Kokinshu" in the Middle Ages. "Akisame" appears in verse prose in the mid-modern haiku of Buson and others, where it is used together with "akisame."Shu-u shiu...
