Bushing

Japanese: ブッシング（英語表記）bushing

A device that is attached to the case of electrical equipment or the wall of a building to allow electricity to flow in and out (Figure 1). Structurally, there are the following main types: (1) Simple bushing: A bushing that simply passes a conductor through a porcelain tube, as shown in Figure 2. It is used for voltages of 33 kV or less. (2) Oil-filled bushing: A bushing with oil and several insulating tubes placed inside a porcelain tube. Structurally an older type. (3) Oil-impregnated paper condenser bushing: A bushing in which paper, aluminum foil, carbon paper, etc. are wrapped around the conductor at appropriate intervals and impregnated with insulating oil to form a capacitor, improving the electric field distribution and strengthening the insulation.

電気機器のケースや建物の壁などに取り付けてそこから電気が出入できるようにする装置(図1)。構造的に大別すると以下のようなものがある。(1)単一形ブッシング　図2に示すように碍管（がいかん）中を導体を通すだけの構造のブッシング。33kV以下の電圧に使用される。(2)油入ブッシング　碍管に油といくつかの絶縁筒を入れたブッシング。構造的に古いタイプのものである。(3)油浸紙コンデンサーブッシング　導体に紙とアルミ箔やカーボン紙などを適当な間隔で巻き込んで絶縁油を含浸させてコンデンサーを形成させ，電界分布を改善して，絶縁を強化したブッシング。
