Buchia (English name) jelly palm
A small palm tree found in the tropics and subtropics of South America. It grows to a height of 3-8 m. The trunk is somewhat thick, and the base of the petiole of dead leaves remains on the surface. The leaves are pinnately lobed, 1-2 m long, often curved inward at the tip, and gray-white or gray-green. There are 25-60 pairs of pinnae, 30-50 cm long, narrow, drooping at the upper half, and sharply bifurcated at the tip. The axillary spadix is ​​1-1.5 cm long. The flowers are monoecious, small, yellow or red. Male flowers have six stamens, and female flowers have one pistil with three stigmas.
