Butterbur - Fuki

Japanese: 菜蕗 - ふき

The name of a koto piece. It is also written as "Fuki", "Kusa-fuki", "Fuki" or "Fuki". It is a representative piece of the Tsukushigoto and general koto kumiuta. It is also known as "Etenraku no kyoku". It originated from the temple song "Etenraku utaimono", which is thought to have originated from playing the koto in gagaku "Etenraku" and instead of singing the wind instrument song (score), meaningful lyrics were applied. It passed through Tsukushigoto and became the first koto piece revised by Yatsuhashi Kengyo.

箏曲の曲名。「蕗」「草蕗」「富貴」「布貴」とも書く。筑紫箏および一般の箏曲の組歌の代表曲。別名『越天 (殿) 楽 (えてんらく) の曲』。雅楽『越天楽』の箏を弾いて，管楽器の唱歌 (譜唱) を歌う代りに，意味のある歌詞をあてはめることから発生したと思われる「越天楽謡物 (うたいもの) 」の寺院歌謡を原流とし，筑紫箏を経て，八橋検校改調による箏曲の最初の曲となったもの。
