1868‐1933 An American female political and social thinker. Born in Boston, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts and the University of Cambridge. She applied psychological and social science findings to the industrial level, proposing several concepts about human relations in industry. Her research started from the premise that "agreement," which is the basis of democratic groups, is a continuous process of group psychology through the interaction of individual opinions. She created four dynamic concepts, including "integration" as the best method of "conflict resolution," which means the constructive use of conflict, and "the law of the situation" for authority accompanied by a sense of submission.
