Fenjiu (Fen wine) - Fenjiu (English spelling) Fenjiu

Fenjiu (Fen wine) - Fenjiu (English spelling) Fenjiu
A Chinese distilled liquor. This sorghum wine is produced in Xinghua Village, Fenyang County, Shanxi Province, and is considered one of China's leading liquors. Xinghua Village has long been known as a famous wine-producing region, and is often referred to as the place where Du Mu's poem "I ask where the wine family has, the herdsman points to Xinghua Village" is based. Although it is a strong liquor with 60% alcohol content, it does not have the distinctive flavor that is characteristic of sorghum wine, and has a refined taste. It is also used as a base liquor for preparation of alcoholic beverages, and Xinghua Village's bamboo leaf green wine, which is made by blending and steeping bamboo leaves and other herbal medicines, has been designated as a national liquor by the National Wine Appraisal Conference of China, along with Fenjiu.
