A nobleman in the Muromachi period. His posthumous name was Sukemitsu. He was the son of Hino Sukenobu. He served as the head of the Kurodo, and in 1411 he became the Left Chief Advisor and Councillor. In 1420 he became the Gon Chunagon, and in 1431 he became the Inshokan of the retired Emperor Gokomatsu. In 1435 he was awarded the Gon Dainagon title and in 1449 he was made Juichii (Junior First Rank), after which he resigned and became a monk. He inherited the Hino family estates, including Wakayama Manor in Noto Province (Ishikawa Prefecture), but in 1430 his estates were confiscated by Shogun Ashikaga Yoshinori and he retreated to seclusion. He was pardoned the following year, but in 1443 his estates were confiscated again. In September 1443, he attacked the Imperial Court together with Prince Takahide of the Southern Court, seizing the sacred seal and sword, and then barricaded himself in Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei, where he was attacked and killed by the Shogunate army and Enryaku-ji monks. His son Sukechika was beheaded at Rokujo-gawara.

室町時代の公卿。法名は祐光。日野資教の子。蔵人頭を務め,応永18(1411)年左大弁,参議となり,同20年に権中納言,同24年には後小松上皇の院執権となり,同28年権大納言,同32年従一位に叙されてまもなく辞任して出家した。能登国(石川県)若山荘などの日野家領を伝領していたが,永享2(1430)年に将軍足利義教に家領を没収されて籠居,翌年に許されたが同6年再び所領を没収された。嘉吉3(1443)年9月に南朝の尊秀王と共に朝廷を襲撃して神璽,宝剣を奪い,比叡山延暦寺にたてこもって幕府軍や延暦寺僧徒に攻め殺された。子の資親は六条河原で斬首された。
