Photographic film is made by coating a thin film base (support) made of cellulose derivatives or similar material with a photosensitive photographic emulsion. The surface is protected by a gelatin membrane or similar, and to prevent halation, gelatin mixed with light-absorbing dyes is coated on the back, or these dyes are added to the film base. There are various types of film, such as orthopan and panchromatic, based on differences in photosensitivity, and various types of film, such as still photography film, movie film, X-ray film, and microfilm, based on their uses. Based on their form, film can be broadly divided into roll films with widths of 8 to 70 mm, such as 35 mm film and Brownie film, and sheet films cut into individual frames, such as 4 x 5 film and 8 x 10 film. → Color film / Photosensitivity → Related topics Photosensitive materials | Photography Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
