This is a set of knob bells (currently in the possession of the Izumiya Museum of Contemporary Art, Kyoto) excavated in 1920 from the Jincun Tomb, located at the site of Luoyang City of the Han and Wei dynasties in Luoyang, Henan Province, China. There are currently 12 of them, but originally they were made up of 14, and they vary slightly in size, ranging from 32cm to 12cm in height. The design features a repeated ground pattern of unitary patterns in the Banchimon style on one side, a Taotie-style animal face in the center of the drum, and each plate is in the shape of a coiled snake, and both sides of the knob feature a 鈥檚-shaped vortex-like sunken line pattern.
