A national park in western Texas, USA. It has an area of 2,999 km2 and was designated a national park in 1944. It is located at the big bend of the Rio Grande River, which flows southeast, but suddenly changes course to the northeast. Here, the Rio Grande forms canyons such as the Grand Canyon of Santa Elena and Boquillas Canyon. Most of the park is arid wilderness, with desert and steppe, but the Chisos Mountains lie in the center. There are also many prehistoric Indian ruins and tree fossils.

アメリカ合衆国テキサス州西部の国立公園。面積2999km2。1944年に国立公園に指定された。南東に流れるリオ･グランデ川が急に北東に流れを変える場所(big bend)にあり，リオ･グランデ川はここにグランド･キャニオン･オブ･サンタ･エレナやボキヤス･キャニオンなどの峡谷を形成している。公園の大部分は乾燥地域の荒野で，砂漠やステップが広がるが，中央部にはチソス山地がある。また，先史時代のインディアン遺跡，樹木の化石も多い。
