Iwamurada

Japanese: 岩村田 - いわむらだ

Located in eastern Nagano Prefecture, this is one of the central urban areas of Saku City. In the early modern period, it was a post town on the Nakasendo road, and the Naito clan's 15,000 koku jinya was located here. It was the central urban area of the former Iwamurata-machi and then the former Asama-machi, and became part of Saku City in 1961. Since the Meiji period, it has been the administrative center of the northern half of the Saku Basin, and local government offices are still concentrated here today. The shopping district runs along National Route 141 (Saku Koshu Kaido). There is a natural habitat of luminous moss, a natural monument.

長野県東部，佐久市の中心市街地の1つ。近世は中山道の宿場町で，内藤氏1万 5000石の陣屋がおかれた。旧岩村田町，次いで旧浅間町の中心市街地で，1961年佐久市の一部となったが，明治以来，佐久盆地北半の行政上の中心をなし，現在も地方行政機関が集中している。商店街は国道 141号線 (佐久甲州街道) に沿う。天然記念物のヒカリゴケ自生地がある。
