Japanese: 万国図 - ばんこくず

A map depicting the countries of the world. From the 17th century to the end of the 19th century, the terms "world map" and "world map in its entirety" were used to mean "world map" or "world map in its entirety." Currently, it is also used as an abbreviation for "international map of the world on the million scale" (IMW).

It began at the 5th International Geographical Congress in Bern in 1881, when A. Penck proposed the creation of international maps with unified scales, projections, and symbols. The first IMW conference was held in London in 1909, and in 1920 the central secretariat was established in the British Ordnance Survey.

世界の国々を描いた地図。17世紀から19世紀末ごろまでは，世界図もしくは世界全図の意味で，万国総図，万国全図などの用語が用いられた。現在，100万分の1国際図international map of the world on the million scale(略号IMW)の略称としても用いられる。

　1881年のベルンにおける第5回国際地理学会議で，A.ペンクが統一された縮尺，図法，記号などによる国際的な地図の作成を提唱したのに始まり，その後第1回IMWの会議が1909年にロンドンで開催され，20年にはイギリスの測量局Ordnance Surveyに中央事務局が置かれた。
