Grand Trianon (English spelling)

…The king's apartments were positioned as the center of the city and the palace, with the streets radiating out toward the front of the palace, and the city plan was based on a radial plan. Later, Mansart completed the Grand Trianon, a quiet villa on the vast grounds, but the construction of these small buildings continued even after the death of Louis XIV, including the Petit Trianon (1768, designed by Gabriel) for Madame de Pompadour and the Hameau (country house) for Marie Antoinette.
