Paramushir [island] - Paramushir
Also called Horomushiro in Japanese. An island at the northern end of the Kuril Islands. There are several active and dormant volcanoes, with the highest point being Mount Chiklatsky, which is 1,815m above sea level. Until 1945, when it was under Japanese rule, it was a transit point for fishing in the North Sea. The main port is Sebelo-Kurilsk. It has an area of ​​approximately 2,040 km2 .
