A town in Higashi Shirakawa District, southern Fukushima Prefecture. Hanawa, located in the center of the Suigun Line, is a settlement at the mouth of the Kawakami River, a tributary of the Kuji River, and in the early modern period was the site of the magistrate's office. The town is mountainous and rich in forest resources, producing rice, konjac, and vegetables. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 211.41 km2 . 9,884 people (2010). 福島県南部，東白川郡の町。水郡(すいぐん)線に沿う中心の塙は久慈川の支流川上川の渓口集落で，近世は代官所があった。山地が広く，森林資源に富み，米，コンニャク，野菜を産する。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。211.41km2。9884人（2010）。
