Japanese: はと座(鳩座) - はとざ（英語表記）Columba

Its abbreviation is Col. It is a small constellation located southwest of Canis Major. It was newly added in the star atlas by Augustin Royer published in 1679. It is an image of a dove released from Noah's Ark and returning with an olive branch in its mouth, but some people see the huge constellation Argo (now divided into four constellations: Carina, Argo, and Argos) to the east as the ark. Alpha Fact is a 2.6 magnitude star, and beta Wazun is a 3.1 magnitude star, with no other notable stars. Its approximate position is 5h40m right ascension and -34° declination.

略号はCol。おおいぬ座の南西に位置する小星座。1679年に刊行されたロアイエAugstin Royerの星図で新設された。ノアの箱舟から放たれオリーブの小枝をくわえてもどってきたハトの姿であるが，東どなりに広がる巨大なアルゴ座(現在はりゅうこつ，とも，ほ，らしんばんの4星座に分割)をこの箱舟と見たてる人もいる。α星ファクトは2.6等星，β星ワズンは3.1等星で他に目につく星はない。概略位置は赤経5h40m，赤緯－34゜。
