A general term for vines. Examples include club vine, Japanese vine, honeysuckle, and Japanese honeysuckle. In ancient times, vines were tied or wrapped around hair as head decorations, and were called wigs. It is said that vines came to be called "kazura" for this reason. "Kazura" is an abbreviation of "kamitsura," which is an old name for "vine." It seems that the name "tsura" comes from the long strings of vines. However, later on, not only vines but also plants such as willows, tachibana, cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, lilies, irises, purple grass, rice, and algae were used to make wigs.
