Kin Town - Kin

A town in Kunigami County, located almost in the center of the east coast of Okinawa Island. Its main industries are growing potatoes, sugarcane, and livestock. Camp Hansen, a U.S. Marine Corps base, is located here. In 1996, a basic agreement was reached on the relocation of a live-fire training range for the U.S. military. There is a limestone cave at Kin Kannon Temple, which dates back to the time of King Sho Shin. The Okinawa Expressway runs through the town. Area: 37.84 km2 . Population: 11,066 (2010). 沖縄島東岸のほぼ中央部，国頭(くにがみ)郡の町。田イモ，サトウキビ栽培，畜産などが主産業。米軍海兵隊のキャンプ・ハンセンがある。1996年日米首脳会談で米軍の実弾射撃訓練場の移転が基本合意された。尚真王時代の金武観音寺には鍾乳洞がある。沖縄自動車道が通じる。37.84km2。１万1066人（2010）。
