The name of a school of Heikyoku. In the Edo period, this refers to a tradition of Kyoto Heikyoku that was founded by Hatano Koichi Kengyo (?-1651). Hatano Kengyo used popular versions of the lyrics and incorporated the melody of the Yasaka school to create a new tradition of Heikyoku, which came to be called the Hatano school. It was passed down among his disciples, Kishibe Kengyo, Kishinami Kengyo, Gonda Kengyo, Terauchi Kengyo, and Okumura Kengyo, and then from Okumura to Fujimura Seizen Kengyo (1853-1911), but is now extinct.
