The name of a Sue ware vessel shape. It is a jar with a small circular hole in the body. Sometimes a short, tubular spout is made around the hole. Some have wide or narrow necks, the narrowest being too narrow to fit a finger through, indicating that it is a liquid container. A bamboo tube is inserted into the hole to use it as a pouring vessel. It is a popular myth that the bamboo tube is placed on the mouth to suck up the contents, or that it is an instrument that is played by putting the mouth to the hole and blowing. This vessel shape appeared in Sue ware due to Korean influence, and in Japan this vessel shape can also be found on rare occasions in Haji ware.

須恵（すえ）器の器形の名称。胴部に小さい円孔を一つあけた壺である。円孔の周囲に短い管状の注口をつくることもある。頸（くび）の広いものや狭いものがあって，狭いものは指がはいらぬほどで，液体の容器であることを示している。竹の管を円孔に挿入して，注器として使用するものであろう。竹の管に口をつけて内容物を吸い上げるとか，孔に口をあてて吹き鳴らす楽器であるなどというのは俗説である。須恵器にこの器形が現れたのは朝鮮の影響によるもので，日本では土師（はじ）器にもまれにこの器形がある。
