Also called wood compost. This compost is made by piling and rotting wood waste, especially bark, from pulp and wood processing factories. There are about 20 types of special fertilizers on the market, with an annual consumption of about 300,000 tons. Usually, wood waste is piled up in the open for a while, then crushed into coarsely crushed material with a diameter of 3 to 5 mm or less. 1 ton of this coarsely crushed material is mixed with 50 kg of dried chicken manure, 10 kg of urea, and about 20 kg of ammonium sulfate, and piled in a frame to a height of 1.5 to 2 m, with a volume of about 160 m3.

木質堆肥ともいう。パルプ･木材加工工場からの木質廃材とくに樹皮(バーク)を主原料とし，堆積，腐熟させた堆肥。特殊肥料として20種ほどの製品が市販されており，年間の消費量は30万tほどになる。普通は木質廃材をしばらく野積みしてから粉砕して，直径3～5mm以下の粗砕物とする。この粗砕物1tに乾燥鶏糞（けいふん）50kg，尿素10kg，硫安20kgほどをまぜて，枠のなかに1.5～2mの高さで容積160m3ほどに堆積する。
