A fishing gear consisting of a single main line to which are tied many branch lines with fishing hooks. There are floating lines, which are stretched in the upper and middle layers of the water with buoys attached, and bottom lines, which are stretched on the bottom. The former are mainly used in the deep sea for tuna, but there are also lines for mackerel, flying fish, and yellowtail. The latter include lines for cod, sea bream, pufferfish, and flounder.

１本の幹縄に釣針をつけた多数の枝縄を結んだ釣漁具。水の上層・中層に浮標をつけて張る浮はえなわと，水底に張る底はえなわとがある。前者は遠洋で使われるマグロはえなわが主で，ほかにサバ，トビウオ，ブリなどのはえなわがある。後者にはタラ，タイ，フグ，カレイなどのはえなわがある。
