Farm tools set - Nougusen

Also known as "Nouguzoroe," this is an agricultural book written in 1865 (Keio 1) by Otsubo Niichi (1827-1907) in Minowa Village, adjacent to Takayama in Hida Province (Gifu Prefecture), but was not published until the early Meiji period. It lists annual events and various rural customs for each month from January to December, but as the title suggests, the main focus is on explanations of the farm tools used each month, with approximately 350 types covered, making it a valuable historical resource along with Okura Nagatsune's "Convenient Uses of Farm Tools." It also contains many introductions to proverbs and dialects, making it interesting as a folkloric record rather than a technical book in the strict sense.

〈のうぐぞろえ〉とも呼ぶ。飛驒国(岐阜県)高山に隣接する蓑輪村で，大坪二市(1827‐1907)が1865年(慶応1)に書きあげた農書だが，公表されたのは明治初期である。1月から12月まで各月別に，年中行事，各種の農村習俗を記載しているが，書名どおり中心は月ごとに使用される農具の説明で，約350種がとりあげられ，大蔵永常著《農具便利論》などとともに貴重な史料である。ことわざや方言などの紹介も多く，狭義の技術書というより民俗学的記録として興味深い。
