A collection of rhapsodies and mad prose. Two volumes in one book. Written by Chin Fen Hanzijiao (Ota Nanpo), with a preface by Wurai Sanjin (Hiraga Gennai), a preface by Kikofuku, and a postscript by Monomorirai. Published in Edo in 1767 (Meiwa 4). Contains 26 rhapsodies and 10 mad prose pieces by Nanpo, who was then 19 years old, and includes an appendix of a mad prose piece by Hokkai Tenmin. Two years later, Domyaku's Taihei Gafu was published in Kyoto, and together they marked the beginning of the popularity of rhapsodies. Domyaku was also a young man of 18 at the time. Modeled after anthologies of Chinese poetry and prose, it humorously depicts everyday events in such stories as "Poetry of Gold," "Sightseeing in Edo," and "Preface to Sending Off Momotaro."
