Nyuto Onsenkyo

A general term for hot springs scattered around the western foot of Mt. Nyuto (Mt. Eboshi) on the border between Akita and Iwate prefectures. From upstream along the Sendachi River, a tributary of the Tamagawa River, there are Magoroku, Kuroyu, Ogama, Kaniba, Taenoyu, and Tsuru no Yu. Located at an altitude of 800 meters, it retains the atmosphere of a hot spring resort. Tsuru no Yu is the oldest, and it is said that even the lord of Akita domain bathed there. It is located within Towada-Hachimantai National Park, and nearby is the Kyukamura Nyuto Onsenkyo. There is a bus service from Tazawako Station on the JR Tazawako Line (Akita Shinkansen).

秋田・岩手県境の乳頭山（烏帽子岳(えぼしだけ)）西麓(せいろく)に点在する温泉の総称。玉川の支流先達川(せんだちがわ)沿いに上流から孫六(まごろく)、黒湯、大釜(おおがま)、蟹場(かにば)、妙(たえ)乃湯、鶴(つる)の湯がある。標高800メートルの高地にあり、湯治場的雰囲気を保っている。鶴の湯がもっとも古く、秋田藩主も入湯したという。十和田八幡平(とわだはちまんたい)国立公園域で、近くには休暇村乳頭温泉郷がある。JR田沢湖線（秋田新幹線）田沢湖駅からバスの便がある。
