"Palace Guell" - Guell Tei

He combined the rational development of Gothic architecture, the application of Catalan architectural techniques, and Islamic decorativeness in his unique poetic imagination, and left his works in Barcelona and its surrounding areas, as well as in Astorga and Leon. In particular, he is known for his works such as Finca Güell (1864-87), Palau Güell (1886-89), Park Güell (1900-14), and the Crypt of Colonia Güell (1908-16), which he built under the auspices of his friendship with Marquis Güell, a representative Catalan businessman of the time, as well as Casa Mila (1906-10) and the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family (Sagrada Familia, 1883-), whose construction is still ongoing. His works were long ignored or viewed as heretical in the era of functionalist architecture, but today they are being reevaluated for various reasons, including the rationality of their unique structures, their pioneering status in Art Nouveau, their adaptation to the environment, and their symbolism.
