Japan Science and Technology Information Center

Japanese: 日本科学技術情報センター - にほんかがくぎじゅつじょうほうセンター

A public corporation established in 1957 that collects, organizes, analyzes, and stores science and technology information from around the world, and provides it to research institutions. Its abbreviation is JICST (Japan Information Center of Science and Technology). In addition to issuing science and technology literature bulletins (12 series, including electrical engineering), it also provides online information search services using computer processing. In addition to branches throughout the country, it has an information library and a Tsukuba Resource Center as affiliated institutions. In 1996, it merged with the Research Development Corporation of Japan to become the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
