This is the diary of Ninagawa Chikamoto, the Mandokorodai of the Muromachi Shogunate. It is also called the Chikamoto Diary. Mandokorodai refers to the deputy governor of the Ise clan, who was the steward of the Mandokoro at the time. Currently, only the entries from 1465 and part of the period from 1477 to 1486 remain. Chikamoto was famous for his excellent calligraphy, so his diary also became an object of admiration, which resulted in the diary being scattered and lost. Two related historical documents, the Mandokoro Nai Hyojo Records and the Kubarimei Hikitsuke, were circulated together with the diary after the Edo period, and are therefore included separately. They are considered valuable historical documents for understanding the politics and society of the turbulent times of the Onin War and the Bunmei War.
