Blue Monkey (English spelling)
An Old World monkey of the Cercopithecidae family of the primate order (illustration). There are several subspecies, each of which is called a Sykes' monkey, a golden monkey, or a Diadem guenon. With a head-body length of 50-60 cm and a rounded body, it is a large monkey in this genus. One of the subspecies, the Sykes' monkey C. m . albogularis , has a strikingly white throat and is found in East Africa. Another subspecies, the blue monkey C. m . mitis in the strict sense, is found in Central Africa to West Africa.

霊長目オナガザル科の旧世界ザル(イラスト)。いくつかの亜種があり,それぞれサイクスモンキー,ゴールデンモンキー,ディアデムグエノンなどと呼ばれている。頭胴長は50~60cmで,丸々とした体つきをしており,この属の中では大型のサルである。亜種の一つサイクスモンキーC.m.albogularisは,のどの部分がきわだって白く東アフリカに分布する。もう一つの亜種,狭義のブルーモンキーC.m.mitisは,中央アフリカから西アフリカに分布する。
