This is the diary of Ninagawa Chikatoshi (?-1569), who served as Mandokorodai during the reign of the 12th Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, Ashikaga Yoshiharu. Handwritten diary entries from 1538 (Tenbun 7) to 1542, as well as fragments from 1549 to 1552 remain. Due to the nature of his job, many of the entries report on developments around the Shogun, but there are also detailed articles about his master, the Ise clan, and his own control over their territories, making the diary a valuable resource for considering land control at the end of the manor system. Included in the Literature University History Series and Continued Historical Materials Collection. [Kuwayama Kozen] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
