Niseko [town] - Niseko
A town in Abuta District, Hokkaido. Formerly called Kaributo Town, it was renamed in 1964. It lies to the east of Mt. Yotei, to the north of Niseko Annupuri, and to the south of Mt. Konbu, and the Hakodate Main Line runs along the Shiribetsu River. The town produces potatoes and is also a dairy farm. It is home to Konbu Onsen, and there are many ski resorts nearby. In recent years, the number of tourists from overseas has increased, and it has become a resort town. Area: 197.13 km2. Population: 4,823 (2010).

北海道虻田(あぶた)郡の町。もと狩太(かりぶと)町といい,1964年改称。東に羊蹄(ようてい)山,北にニセコアンヌプリ,南に昆布(こんぶ)岳をひかえ,尻別川沿いに函館本線が通じる。ジャガイモを産し,酪農も行われる。昆布温泉があり,その付近に多くのスキー場がある。近年では海外からの観光客が増えリゾート地となっている。197.13km2。4823人(2010)。
