He opened a business in Kyoto. In addition to the ukiyo-zoshi known as the Nishimura edition, he published many haiku books, kana-zoshi, medical books, and other works. He was good at haiku. He passed away on September 3, 1606. His real name was Hisashige. His pen names included Mitatsu and Shomatsuko.
