Nishiizu [town] - Nishiizu

Japanese: 西伊豆[町] - にしいず

A town on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula in Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is home to Dogashima Beach, one of the most scenic beaches on the peninsula, and serves as a base for tourism in western Izu. Dogashima Tenmado Cave (a natural monument) is called Sendo Cave and connects to the open sea. The natural port of Tako Port is a base for long-distance bonito fishing and the home of Izu-bushi (dried bonito flakes). Flowers (oysters) are also cultivated here. In April 2005, Kamo Village, Kamo District, was incorporated into the town. ^{105.54 km2} . 9,469 people (2010).
